This adaptation of ‘Three Beauties of the Present Day’ by Kitagawa Utamaro was done from a view that something will change and something not. In all ages, a woman wants to be superior to others, but the time has changed. Now we value a diversity of beauty. Each of the beauties in this work is different from the other two in hairstyle, clothes, or color of their skin. They are in extreme rivalry in modern society where we cannot survive only because we are beautiful. It looks like they are competing in the red oceans.
